What happens on a weekly visit?

The visit follows the same six steps at every pool, every week. It takes 25 to 35 minutes, and nothing is skipped because the route is running late.

Testing comes first because the readings decide everything else. We use a drop test kit at the pool, which is slower than a strip and far more accurate, and the numbers go into your report as they are read.

Everything included in weekly service

  1. Test the water

Free chlorine, pH, alkalinity, calcium, stabilizer and salt, every week, with a drop test kit.

  2. Balance it

We add what the readings call for and write down how much. Chemicals are included in the monthly price.

  3. Brush walls, steps and tile

Algae starts on surfaces before you can see it in the water. Brushing is what keeps it from taking hold.

  4. Skim and empty baskets

Surface, skimmer basket, pump basket and the cleaner bag, so the pump can move water.

  5. Check the equipment

Pump, filter pressure, salt cell, timers and the autofill. A pressure reading is logged every visit.

  6. Close the gate and report

We pull the gate shut, check that it latched, and send the report before we leave the street.

How much does pool service cost?

What does a Phoenix year do to a pool?

The desert has five pool seasons, and each one asks for something different. The marker shows today.

The five pool seasons in Phoenix and what weekly service does in each
SeasonMonthsWhat changes in the waterWhat we do about it
WinterDecember to FebruaryCooler water needs less chlorine. Citrus leaves and winter rye clippings fill the baskets.Shorter pump schedule, filter inspection, and the best months for a drain and refill.
SpringMarch to MayWater warms, pollen and palo verde blossoms coat the surface, and algae wakes up.Raise the pump hours, brush every wall weekly, and clean the filter before summer.
SummerJune to mid SeptemberWater runs warm for months, sun burns off chlorine by afternoon, and the pool can lose about a quarter inch of water a day.Routes from 6 AM, stabilizer checked monthly, water level and autofill checked every visit.
MonsoonJune 15 to September 30Dust storms drop fine silt into the water and rain throws the chemistry off overnight.Storm cleanup visits, extra filter cleanings, and phosphate checks after each big storm.
FallOctober and NovemberThe heat breaks, swimmers thin out, and a summer of hard tap water shows up as scale on the tile.Calcium and stabilizer review, tile line cleaning, and repair work that waited for cooler weather.

Monsoon dates are the National Weather Service definition for Arizona. Read the guide to monsoon and dust storm pool care.

Which neighborhoods are on our routes?

Each neighborhood has its own route days. Tight routes mean more time at each pool and less time on the 51.

What worries pool owners most?

Three things we hear on almost every first call, and what we do about each.

“I never know if anyone came.”

Every visit sends a report with arrival and departure times, six readings and a photo of your pool. If we could not get in the gate, the report says that too, with the time we tried.

“My last company sent someone new every month.”

One technician owns your pool and your route day. They keep notes on your equipment, your dog and the side of the yard the wind fills with leaves.

“I'm worried about a surprise bill.”

Chemicals are included in weekly service. Repairs get a written price before any work starts, and you approve it from your phone. Nothing is added on site without asking you.

How is my gate code protected?

A pool company knows when you are away and how to open your gate. We treat your code like a house key.

How reports and codes are protected

Small children at home? Arizona law sets rules for pool fences and gates, and we check your gate on every visit. Read the pool barrier guide.

  • Collected by phone

We never ask for a gate or alarm code by text, email or web form.

  • Stored encrypted

Codes sit in one system with a login for each person, and access ends the day someone leaves.

  • Shown on route day only

Your technician sees the code on the morning of your visit and at no other time.

  • Every view is logged

The system records who looked at a code and when.

What do customers say?

Sample reviews written for this demo.

The report lands on my phone before the truck has left the street. Chlorine, pH, a photo of the pool, and a note that the gate latched behind them. I stopped wondering whether anyone came.
Priya N., Arcadia Sample review
We bought a house with a pool the color of pea soup. Wendell gave us a written price on the first visit, and five days later the kids were swimming. The price on the invoice matched the one on the quote.
Marcus and Dee L., Ahwatukee Sample review
After the big dust storm in August they were here the next morning without me calling. Same technician as always. She emptied the baskets twice, cleaned the filter and left the pool blue by the weekend.

Pool service in Phoenix, answered

Still have a question? Call (602) 555-0118 and a person answers. You can also read about the team.

How much does weekly pool service cost in Phoenix?

Our weekly service is $155 a month for a standard residential pool, with chemicals included. Pools over 20,000 gallons, pools with an attached spa and pools under heavy tree cover are quoted individually. The full list is on the pricing page.

Do I get the same technician every week?

Yes. Each pool is assigned to one technician and one route day. When your technician is on vacation, the service manager tells you who is covering and that person reads your pool's notes before they arrive.

How do I know the pool was serviced?

Every visit ends with a report sent to your phone and email: the time we arrived and left, six water readings, what we added, a photo of the pool and a line confirming the gate latched. Read more about the weekly report.

Do you work through the summer and the monsoon?

We work all year. Routes start at 6 AM in summer so the work is done before the worst heat. After a dust storm, weekly customers get a cleanup visit on the next route day or sooner. See monsoon and dust storm care.

Are you licensed to repair pool equipment?

Yes. Saltbrush holds an Arizona Registrar of Contractors R-6 license, the residential classification for swimming pool service and repair. It covers service and minor repair of pools and their accessories. It does not cover full replastering or new construction, and we refer those out.

Which parts of the Valley do you serve?

Central Phoenix, Arcadia, Ahwatukee and Tempe. We keep routes tight on purpose, because a technician who drives less has more time at each pool.

Tell us about your pool

Five details and we send a written quote the same business day. No one comes to the gate until you say so.
