The craft
Why is it called The Kiln?
The craft in this room is pottery. The lamps on either side of the bed, the tiles behind the tub and the washbasin were all thrown and fired on the island.
The walls went green to match one glaze. It took four tries to get the paint right, and the potter still says the basin is the better color.

The Kiln, answered
Does The Kiln have a shower?
The tub has a hand shower on a brass cradle. If you would rather have a walk in shower, ask for The Loom, The Bindery or The Press.
Why is The Kiln the quietest room?
It faces the back garden, away from the street, and it shares only one wall with the stair hall.
Is the tub hard to climb into?
The rim is about two feet high. Guests who would rather not step over it are happier in The Press, which has a shower with a low threshold and a bench.
