A veterinarian near Woodstock

Woodstock is a dog neighborhood, and the off leash area at Woodstock Park is where a lot of our patients spend their evenings.

What should Woodstock pet owners know?

Woodstock Park covers about 14 acres at SE 47th Avenue and Steele Street, and it has one of the city's off leash areas. Dogs that play there every week meet a lot of other dogs.

For those dogs we talk about the Bordetella vaccine, year round flea prevention, and what a play injury looks like the next morning. A limp that has not improved after a day of rest is a call us today problem.

Bite wounds from play are often smaller on the surface than underneath. If your dog comes home with a puncture, call the same day.

What do we plan for here?

Pet care notes for Woodstock
What we see hereWhat we do about it
Weekly play at the off leash areaBordetella vaccine, flea prevention every month, and a nail check
Sprains and sore legs after hard playRest for a day. If the limp is still there, we see your dog that day
Small punctures after a scuffleCall the same day. These close over fast and can trap infection

Seasonal risks for the whole city are in the Portland hazards guide.
